Enchanting Escapes: Adults-Only Experiences Aboard the Disney Dream

Filed in: Adults, Disney Dream

CELEBRATION, Fla. — Aboard the Disney Dream, guests age 18 and older can enjoy secluded places and pampering, plus nighttime entertainment venues just for adults. Add fine dining, a deluxe spa, tranquil private pools, secluded sundecks and a comfy café, and the result is a vacation full of ways adults can indulge, unwind, relax and rejuvenate themselves in exclusive areas.

Exquisite Specialty Dining

Two distinctive, adults-only dining experiences whisk guests away to an epicurean delight aboard the Disney Dream. Available as alternatives to the normal rotational dining experiences, these refined culinary adventures on Deck 12 are reserved for guests ages 18 and older:

Modern Italian Cuisine at Palo

Named after the colorful poles that line the canals of Venice, Palo offers a superlative dining experience in a sophisticated atmosphere reserved exclusively for adults. At this elegant restaurant, guests are invited to indulge in a menu of delectable modern Italian cuisine, classic reserve wines and superior service.

Palo provides an unforgettable dinner experience at sea. With a semi-circular design, floor-to- ceiling windows and raised banquettes along one side, every seat offers beautiful vistas. Stylish furnishings, Frette linens, custom art, warm wood tones and a color palate of rich red, green and gold jewel tones create a refined, Italian-inspired décor.

The restaurant’s wine list includes about 90 labels from all regions of Italy, including a sparkling Prosecco, a lush red Barolo made just for Palo, and some of the best Super Tuscans. The signature Balsamic Grande cocktail features vodka, a splash of five-year-old balsamic vinegar and fresh muddled strawberries. After dinner, a traditional grappa is offered.

In addition to romantic dinners, Palo offers an adult-only Champagne brunch on sea days and select port days. The brunch features Palo’s signature pizzas, made-to-order entrées, seafood, a selection of international cheeses, fresh breads and pastries, desserts, champagne and mimosas.

Between Remy and Palo is Meridian lounge, where guests can enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif or an after-dinner cocktail. With décor inspired by the early days of sea travel, this adult-exclusive lounge has inside seating and an outside teak deck, ideal for watching a sunset or relaxing with a cigar from a fine assortment available at the bar.

Reservations are required for all Palo dining experiences. There is an additional charge for dinner and brunch, plus the cost of alcoholic beverages.

French-Inspired Remy

With gourmet cuisine by two award-winning chefs and a unique approach to wine service, Remy melds classic and contemporary styles in a sophisticated new dining concept exclusively for guests age 18 and older. From the moment guests walk through the door at Remy, they are transported to a fine French dining experience.

Chef Arnaud Lallement from l’Assiette Champenoise, a Michelin three-star restaurant just outside Reims, France, and Chef Scott Hunnel from award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World Resort have collaborated to create a French-inspired menu featuring superior products and seasonal ingredients sourced from around the world.

Dinner at Remy is a lavish and leisurely affair. Lallement’s cuisine is simple and stylish, earning l’Assiette Champenoise three stars from Michelin – the highest possible honor. Hunnel’s innovative dishes garnered Victoria & Albert’s the coveted AAA Five Diamonds, a rating accorded a mere 0.19 percent of restaurants in North America and the Caribbean.

Polished touches at Remy include a tableside trolley for serving international cheeses and decanting stations for wines. Guests may order from two tastings menus that include wine pairings, or order a la carte from the menu.

With a subtle nod to the hit Disney•Pixar film “Ratatouille” and its petite French star Remy, the softly lit main dining room is designed in art nouveau style. The famous Remy character is subtly and artfully integrated into the design. Tables are elegantly set with Frette linens, Riedel glassware, Christofle silverware and Bernadaud china made exclusively for Remy, with gracious accents such as purse stools for women’s handbags. The attentive serving staff is part of the sophisticated story, dressed in long white aprons, black jackets or burgundy vests and bow ties.

A private Chef’s Table dining room, Chez Gusteau (inspired by the fictional Paris restaurant in “Ratatouille”), seats eight. The intimate room is furnished with rich décor inspired by the film— bold, red carpet, chairs and drapes with touches of gold, opulent chandeliers, and scenes of Paris on the walls. Guests also may dine in the glass-walled wine room amid more than 900 bottles of wine.

Once dinner is booked and guests are on board, they are invited to meet with a sommelier in Remy’s glass-walled wine room to taste and pre-select their wines for the evening. The restaurant offers two wine lists: a special French list with 200 vintages from most every region in France, and Remy’s Vault, a separate and exclusive wine list with rare wines from all over the world. Select wines from the French list also are available by the glass.

From Remy’s Vault, 22 wines are selected as the best of the best, presented by white-gloved sommeliers in an elegant velvet box that opens like a book with the name of each wine engraved on a silver-plated plaque. The list includes a 1947 Château Cheval Blanc, another nod to “Ratatouille” (the wine requested by the movie’s food critic). Considered one of the best vintages in the world, a single bottle of Château Cheval Blanc retails for $25,000.

After-dinner libations include Rémy Martin Louis XIII Rare Cask, one of the most sought-after cognacs for connoisseurs, aged in centuries-old casks and served from an elegant Baccarat crystal decanter, and a rare bottle of 43-year-old Camus Cuvee 4.176 Cognac, presented in an engraved Baccarat crystal decanter.

The dinner experience at Remy is $125 per person, plus the cost of wine and other alcoholic beverages. Optional wine pairings selected from the French list are offered at $120.

Remy offers an elegant Champagne brunch on sea days and select port days. The brunch features a decadent six-course French-inspired meal and a selection of Champagnes to perfectly pair with each dish.

Brunch at Remy is $75 per person and includes one complimentary glass of Champagne. An optional Champagne pairing is offered at an additional $30 per person.

Meridian

Nestled between Palo and Remy is Meridian, a cozy getaway with a décor inspired by the early days of sea travel. The venue features a sextant navigational tool embedded in the floor, banquettes with buckles to resemble old steamer trunks and leather maps embossed with passport stamps from around the world adorning the walls.

Enchanting Nightlife — The District

Imagine a playground exclusively for adults where the sun sets over a different big city each night, champagne is sipped in chic surroundings and guests dance the night away at a dynamic nightclub designed to rival any on land or sea.

On the Disney Dream, guests step into a domain that’s all their own at The District, an extraordinary adult-exclusive nighttime entertainment neighborhood that features trendy and sophisticated bars and lounges.

Skyline

Skyline is an ever-changing venue that celebrates some of the world’s most famous cities. Tall “windows” along one wall give guests a birds-eye view of stunning city skylines such as Paris, Rio, New York, Chicago and Hong Kong.

The chic, cozy setting is “metropolitan sky bar meets luxury high-rise penthouse,” complete with a digital fireplace. Lustrous woods and metal finishes are the backdrop to the seven 65-inch LCD screens that depict different locales in panorama.

Skyline’s “windows to the world” are ever-changing as the spectacular city skylines transform from day to night. Signature cocktails, inspired by the city of the day, are offered at the full-service bar designed with inlaid onyx.

Pink: Wine and Champagne Bar

Elegant and upscale, Pink: Wine and Champagne Bar is an intimate cocktail bar serving top-shelf wines and liquor as well as the bubbly beverage of choice … champagne. Inspired by French art nouveau style and characterized by flowing, fluid forms, the entire venue makes guests feel as though they are immersed in a bottle of France’s finest.

As guests sip some of the world’s preeminent champagnes, sparkling wines and proseccos, they are enveloped in the enchanting, playful feel of the venue. Back-lit inset glass “bubbles” covering the walls create the effect of cascading, effervescent champagne. The famous pink elephants from the Disney animated classic “Dumbo” appear to dance in the bubbles.

A feature wall behind the bar with dew drop-shaped glass in pink and gold gives the impression of champagne bottles bursting with bubbly. Light fixtures of sculpted glass are reminiscent of champagne flutes, bar chairs seem as if they are made from sparkling glass and designs along the bar fascia resemble the cage around the top of a champagne bottle.

Pink is the ideal setting for a pre-dinner aperitif, late-night toast and all romantic moments in between. A special Taittinger Prestige Rose is the signature sparkling in Pink.

Evolution

The premier venue in The District and the main club for adult guests, Evolution brings a piece of big-city nightlife to the high seas. Inspired by the metamorphosis of the butterfly, the design is contemporary with an edge.

Butterfly wing patterns on the walls and trails of light effects along the ceiling impart the feeling of butterflies in flight. Pulsing to the beat of the music, lights lead guests to the heart of the club—a dynamic, lighted dance floor that changes with the intensity of the music and a colorful butterfly-shaped feature light on the ceiling above.

The bar is backlit and features strata of layered acrylic and glass in vibrant, translucent tones of orange, yellow, green, pink and purple. Tiered, banquette seating wraps around the perimeter of the room, providing an excellent view of the entire club, the stage and the dance floor.

Evolution is the primary venue for large-scale evening events such as comedy acts, cabaret shows, themed dance parties, live musical performances and other entertainment just for adults.

Pub 687

Adjacent to The District, Pub 687 is a warm and welcoming environment – a modern interpretation of a traditional pub. “687″ is a reference to the “block number” of the Disney Dream – the vessel number assigned by the shipyard and denoted on every block, every piece of steel used to build the Disney Dream.

The casual setting is perfect for guests to kick back and watch live sports and major broadcast events on one of several flat screen televisions, including a large-screen TV with digital surround sound. Rich detail, wood finishes, a stamped-metal ceiling, modern furnishings and soft leather chairs comprise the stylish décor. Two banquette seating niches, each with its own LCD screen, are hideaways for small groups of four or five.

Pub 687 is a location of choice for beer lovers, serving a wide range of international and domestic brews along with a full selection of fine wines and cocktails. The pub features an exclusive “687” red lager—malty and slightly sweet, made with Noble hops grown in central Europe. The pub also offers a special cocktail, The Shipbuilder, made with grappa, limoncello, pear vodka, agave nectar and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

A friendly pub master serves as host and leads guests in a variety of games and activities.

District Lounge

District Lounge is the first entertainment venue upon entering The District. Here, guests find a stylish, relaxed atmosphere with comfortable, contoured seating and an open floor plan. The District Lounge is an ideal gathering place for guests to meet before beginning their journey into The District.

Guests can unwind with their favorite cocktail from the full-service bar and enjoy live piano music and entertainment before moving further through The District.
